Those are some big expectations Babcock is throwing out for Matthews, although I like that he believes in the kid that much. I don't think Babcock is the type to throw out praise like that unless he truly believes it.

Sounds like the coaching staff is helping Matthews with his defensive game and playing without the puck. This is not a bad thing. Good team defense wins championships. We've all been hoping Matthews would become a great 2-way center, not just a scoring machine, and it seems like the coaching staff is grooming him to be just such a player.
